Channel Scan Prb - HVR-1600, pvrx2 1.3.11

I noticed Comcast changed some channels on me so I thought it was time to rescan QAM channels on my HVR-1600. The last time I updated the channels, I was on a prior version of pvrx2 (1.3.7 I think).

Now, when config starts up and I click on the "Map Digital Channels", the scan dialog opens, it says "INITIALIZING..." and disappears. I don't see anything obvious in the logs...

I've been having the same problem with a rescan on my HVR 1600 since applying the Survival guide patch. I get a Windows Popup and a Data Protection error, or another error in the event viewer and my logs just end.

Good point, I also thought it would be best to apply patches prior to running the scan. Also, WinTV seems to scan the QAM channels fine.

as well as live tv dropping out - there can also be issues with channel scanning.

I just tried it after seeing kylebrophy's message and was going to report that I still get a Data Protection error and crash, but this time it did get into the scanning and didn't die on initializing.

LiveTV still works on the channels that are in the db

After that patch, you are getting this data protection error and crash sometimes?

Can you create a c:\temp directory, and an HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\LogPSIProcessing=2 registry setting, then reproduce the scan problem, then zip and attach the c:\temp\psi.log?
