I get the following error when I run the MuxChecker.

NO MULTIPLEXER FILTERS WHERE FOUND ON YOUR MACHINE.

GB-PVR will not function correctly unless you have WinXP SP1 or higher, which has a built-in DVR-M

I'm running on Windows Vista with all current updates. Also using HDHomeRun and antenna.

When I run the config and setup using my HDHomeRun (via these instructions http://www.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5449 ) I can see thumbnail live TV when mapping the channels (although sometimes it hangs). But when I run PVRX2.exe it doesn't display any Live TV nor program guide (although I have it configured to use schedule direct).

Also, I can scan channels from HDHomeRun software and from there when I click the View button VLC pops up and I can watch live TV from there. So I know part of it is working. Just can't figure out why GB-PVR isn't.

As you can see I'm at a loss and quite a newbie at this.

Thanks for your help,

Steve

Dont worry about the muxchecker warning. You'll have the DVR-MS mux, and the build in TS Mux, which is enough.

Did you do the 'map digital channels to epg channels' step when you setup you capture source? Did it find your channels?

Yes I did the Map Digital Channels. And when I click the channels on the list on the right it would play the live TV above it. So I know it could see it in the config. But it doesn't seem to find it in the PVRX2 doesn't seem to see it.

Also in the config I have the skin set to Slick but PVRX2 just comes up with the plain blue. So it's like PVRX2 doesn't even see the config settings. I'm not sure if that helps at all.

What do you recommend?

Maybe try deleting the "C:\Users\<your account>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Devnz" directory.

Ok I deleted that directory. And then in PVRX2 I was able to view a couple of Live TV channels. I then went to TV Guide and it showed my channels but there was no information about what was on for the time of day. I tried to record a program (blindly since I couldn't see what show was on that channel). So there was progress...

But, then things stopped working entirely. When I run PVRX2 or config I get Microsoft Windows dialog stating "PVRX2 has stopped working. Windows is collecting more information about the problem..."

So now I'm really hosed. I tried deleting the above directory again to no avail. Rebooted many times.

Should I uninstall and reinstall? Please advise,

What epg source are you using?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

I signed up for SchedulesDirect for a 7 day free trial. It's set up in config for my 2 tuners.

Logs.zip attached.

Strangely most of your logs are empty. Check you have log flushing enabled in the config app.

I uninstalled and reinstalled. Setup tuners in config application. Now PVRX2.exe shows TV-Guide with all the info. I can watch Live TV too but it is choppy...like its skipping frames. Also there is no sound except for an occasional chirp (like every 10 seconds or so). Although, I can watch TV from HDHomeRun with VLC and it is less choppy but still misses frames and it does have sound.

VLC runs the dual core processor at 100%. Whereas PVRX2 bounces around from 75% to 100% cpu usage.

In the bios I allocated 128Mb of RAM to the video card but that doesn't get rid of the choppiness.

I was able to record a show. When I watched it later it is still choppy.

BTW, my laptop isn't using wifi but is wired to the network.

Any help with choppiness or with making sound work?

This sort of thing is typically related to the video and audio decoders you're using, so try different ones.
