Update EPG through Config

I have the EPG update in config set to 7 PM . Does it really do the EPG update? Reason I ask is that some of the shows I record are not recording.

Which is the problem, epg not updating or recordings not happening? Either way, reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.
