I'm a newb, I've struggled along OK up to the point where I am now but I cannot for the life of me figure this out. I need some kind assistance, please.

Configured with TS Mux, DVB-T feeding my HVR-2200, Live TV is great, recorded analogue is great, recorded TS is nothing (black screen no sound).

Have attached logs as an example.

I saw an earlier post from sub saying
Quote:download GraphEdit, then from the 'insert filters' menu option, expand the directshow category and add the MPEG-2 Demultiplexer and GB-PVR TS Reader filters. When prompted for a file name, select your .ts file. Drag the output pin of the 'GB-PVR TS Reader' to the input pin of the 'MPEG-2 Demultiplexer'. This should cause some output pins to get created on the 'MPEG-2 Demultiplexer' filter. Does it? What are the pin names.

Did that and graphedit shows output from TSReader connecting to MPEG-2 Demux with 4 output pins (AAC, AC3, Audio, Video). I have no idea how to take that farther.

Just for grins I added the Monogram AAC Decoder and the Realtek HD Audio Output and the pins all connect, but again I have no idea what I'm doing.

Anyone have a few moments to walk me back to civilisation?

I suspect its caused by the version of the Cyberlink H.264 decoder you're using. It looks like its not compatible with the VMR renderer (and ends up trying to add a second video renderer, which leads to a lock up).

I havnt seen this same version of the Cyberlink H264 decoder being used in other people's logs.

I havnt seen this same version of the Cyberlink H264 decoder being used in other people's logs.

Using that audio filter I built in Graphedit I now get audio when I play the graph. (I assume that's positive Smile)

As far as the Cyberlink Decoder, I think that's the one that came with the card and why would Live TV be fine if the decoder was the issue?

If it is the decoder can anyone (not putting this all on you, sub) tell what version works for them and where it is in the Cyberlink maze of folders?

PS. sub, can you tell me (from the logs) if I'm getting the correct demuxer?

H.264 decoders arent as interchangeable as MPEG2 decoders, and lots of have special quirks that GB-PVR needs to work around before the decoder is fully usable. It looks like with the specific version you're using you got lucky with live tv, but havnt faired as well with playback.

In your logs its pretty clearly having problems hooking it up, and you can see it using two video renderers:

A lot of people use the H.264 decoder that came with PowerDVD8. Seems to be others using the ArcSoft Video Decoder, or the CoreAVC decoder.

Cheers, sub!

I changed the H.264 Decoder to ffdshow and voila! It seems to work and Live TV still does also!

Thanks for your help.

Just as a follow-on, I added the ffdshow decoder in graphedit but it won't connect the pins (MPEG2 demux video out -> ffdshow In) and says they aren't compatible!

I really wasn't expecting it to work based on that. But, I'll take it!

Its a long story I wont bother going into, but I know why having the disconnected ffdshow filter in your graph might be enough to cause your Cyberlink decoder to connect properly.
