I'm definitely a newbies' newbie, so forgive my ignorance ...

GB-PVR v 1.3.11

Have made 8-10 OTA manual recordings, everything worked fine.

Set up a record for Friday evening, and when checking Sat morning, there was no dvr-ms file.

on the GB-PVR > Recordings screen > "What's new" shows

manual recording
9.1 KMSP-HD(000)
3/6/2009 7:00 -9:00 pm

with a red text "FAILED" in the upper rh corner

The PVRX2.exe-native-1.log shows the undetermined error, prob about the time I was setting the record, but I received no error notice at that time.
Because I'm having issues with signal strength with the digital OTA setup, I usually set the channel I'm going to record, then do a watch to make sure the Hauppauge Digital Signal Strength utility shows adequate signal quality, then complete the record settings.

Thanks in advance ...

It only shows 'failed' in the recording screen if the recording service wasnt running at the time of the recording (or machine switched off etc).

Thanks for the quick response.

re the machine being off: I have started to put the machine in hibernate after setting up the recording. On the Settings screen, I change the "default suspend method" from "suspend" to "hibernate".
Earlier in the week, seems like I watched GB-PVR wake the machine up, do the record, and then go back to hibernation.

Is this an acceptable procedure or ?

Thanks again ...

GB-PVR would have asked Windows to wake your machine at the desired time. This works fine for the majority of people, but there is a occassional person that has problems with Window's being unable to reliably wake there machine. This is more of a Windows problem than a GB-PVR problem.
