Try telneting to the port you used on the machine in question. Nothing much will happen but at least you will have established whether there's basic network connectivity.
Now w/ that said I suspect your problem is the XP Firewall> What I think you need to do is open My Computer, then right click on My Network Places and select properties. Right click on your local area connection and select properties. Go to advanced. In services go to add then add the ip address of the pc, then the port number the scheduling website is running (somebody help me out here what's the GB-PVR default? I always change mine immediately so I can't remember.) on. That should allow outside machines to access the site.

OK let's back up a bit. Some machines can get there and othrs can't? If that's the case let me know I would suspect a DNS issue.

Just reread your post............you see the GB-PVR web site but it won't let you in? (i.e bad password)

I'm thinking my last interpretation was correct. If so on the xp machine when you log in to the site try (machine gbpvr is on name)\username
then the password.

I tried this... i tried my ip xxx.xxx.x.xx\username then my password. I also tried servername\username and then my password. Still no luck! I am really confused. I am able to map a dive to the gbpvr box and access files etc. I just can't get the ID and password to work...

very frustrating... I am thinking some kind of win xp sp2 issue?? I dont know... I cannot believe that I am the only one to have had this problem???

Unfortunately you do seem to be the only person having this problem (I've read your three threads about it), so it must be something specific to your machine.

It works fine here with WinXP SP2, so I dont think its directly related to that.

I am able to access the GBPVR www scheduler from my win xp home sp2 laptop.
GBPVR is running on a machine using win xp home sp2 also.

What I did on my machine running GB-PVR
1) Control Panel->Windows Firewall
2) select "Exceptions" tab
3) select "Add Port"
4) Name port whatever you want I used "GBPVR www server"
5) Enter the port number (whatever you chose on the gbpvr config, I'm using the default 7467)
6) Leave it set to "TCP"
7) Hit ok.

On a network machine try to access GB-PVR over the www.
http://<IPaddres of PVR>:7647/gbpvr/login.aspx
Substitute your PVR IP and port number as needed.

Hope that helps.
