I am having problems again with the timeline on 90% of my DVB-T recordings. When playing back recordings the start and end time of the recording will wildly jump all over the place and increase rapidly. Eventually skipping through adverts becomes impossible as it either jumps too far and when pressing the skip back button it will skip ahead instead and sometime it will only skip a few frames ahead at a time.

When this release of GBPVR came out I had an issue very similar to this which Sub fixed with a patch. This has started to happen again just recently. I have not changed anything.

I did try changing sync audio reference clock to true to see if that would help, but it hasnt.

I've also been having intermittent timeline issues since moving to 1.3.11. Recordings playback fine most of the time but every once in a while (maybe 1 in 7) the timeline seems to think the recording is tens of hours in length when in reality it may only be 30 minutes. Stopping and restarting normally fixes it.

Yes, sounds like the same problem. Stopping and restarting playback sometimes corrects it, but I find it the timeline mostly goes crazy again.

Try the attached patch. If it doesnt help, I'll get you to use the CutChunk utility to collect a 40MB or so sample from the recording.

Hm, I don't record a lot of DVB-T yet (mostly dvb-s) but the only issue I seem to see with DVB-T recordings is the sound going out on skipping. Fudging around with backwards a couple of times generally sorts it out though. And when I think about it I think it's mostly tv3 stuff, not 1 or 2 I have problems with

I have applied the TSReader patch above but am still having Time Line problems with one particular recording. It is the Sunday program recorded from TV1 last night. When it first plays the timeline shows 52 minutes but almost immediately changes to 1058 minutes. It consistently does this after stopping and restarting the recording.

I can upload the file if that would be useful. Can you tell me where I can find the CutChunk utility?

Thanks

You can find the utility here: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...ostcount=2

Cut a chunk, then try playing it to confirm it reports an incorrect timeline, then make that file available to me somewhere and I'll take a look.

I tried this latest tsreader (dated 11/03/09) and I get a lipsync problem. I had this also when I tried the previous tsreader (dated 03/03/09). The video is slightly slower than the audio.

Is there a way to add an audio delay in the config?

No, GB-PVR has no say over lipsync. This is pretty much controlled by the combinations of decoders and renderers you're using. As a first check, make sure your audio renderer is set to 'system default'.

Sub,

I took a 40MB chunk from the problem recording but when I played it back the timeline was correct. The file total file is 3.5GB so if you really wanted it I could burn it to a DVD and post it you. Just let me know.
