Are there any sites, software or plugins that would let me select a movie and would then notify me when it's going to come on network/cable tv (email rss or other alert)?

It seems like a sufficiently useful service that someone would have thought of it, but my googling did not turn up anything. But I figured if it existed, someone here would know about it.

Thanks Smile

Maybe the autosearch/autorecord function in EWA (the webinterface of gbpvr) would do it for you.
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

That works for me, and it's not limited to movies...

You already have it. It's part of GB-PVR these days.

Just go to http://gbpvrmachinenameoripaddress:7647

You can set the admin password in config, but I don't think you even need to log in for most functions.

It is enabled. Looks pretty sweet. I wish I didn't have a dynamic IP now.

Most routers shipped within the last five years or so support dynamic dns, and a dyndns.org account is free. Even if your router doesn't have dynamic dns support (or you otherwise don't want to use it), you can use their windows client on your gb-pvr box.

once you do that, you'll be able to go to http://miansgbpvrbox.dyndns.org:7647 from anywhere in the world. of course then you'll want to set ewa to require a login for all access, otherwise anyone would be able to mess with your pvr.

You'll probably also want to install the EWA command line utility available from the wiki. I set the windows scheduler to run it once a day just after my overnight EPG update, so no need to even start EWA manually.

Thank you! That's perfect.

Will do.

It's not often I realize I want something and then I get quite so much of it, much less more than I wanted. This looks like a rock solid solution to my aspiration. I appreciate everyone's help Big Grin
