Hi,

I'm quite new to this PVR thing, got GBPVR up and running for dutch television finally.

But, I have the idea that playback is of a lower quality than it is with WinTV2000 (Hauppauge). Can this be an issue of the dutch frequenties vs channel settings? (They are matched in the best possible way).
Or does it have to do with the quality settings being stuck on "medium quality"? I tried setting it to "High quality" but for some reason it is not saved.

Any ideas?

The 'medium quality' is not stuck. I'm assuming you think it's stuck in the 'config' area. It just automatically keeps it at that. If you want to change to high quality, you can do that when selecting a program to record.
If you want to know why nPVR is the bomb, ask my wife!

This area is generally a cause of confusion. The config area is purely for define the bitrates, etc for each of the modes. If you want a higher quality picture in Live-TV, update its profile. If like me, you use Medium all the time but do not like its default recording profile, just change the bitrates, etc. here.

For recording programmes, the Quick Rec. uses Medium. If you want to change this, select Record and choose the appropriate recording profile. You cannot change the default profile for recording programmes so that it always uses High Quality or Custom. You need to select this as "Record" time.

Cheers,
Colin.
