Hi,

I've installed GBPVR on my Vista computer, installed the haupauge pvr 150 mce card, and when clicking on live-tv the screen freeze for 2 sec, and then releases, and doesn't enter to the live-tv.
I am not sure if I configured it correctly.
I have a set top box of digital cable, connected to the pvr150 through 3 colored cables (red white and yellow).
I have tried configuring the gbpvr with analog recording plugin, using the hauppauge card, my country, capture device #1, and Composite External Tuner. Also tried the Internal Tuner with no success (I have Antenna connected to the tuner as well).

When trying to watch, it doesn't show anything. doesn't get into the live-tv screen at all.

What should I do to solve the issue?
The EPG is working correctly.

Regards,

Try again, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

That's one of the reasons I don't like Vista! Apparently it's blocking the comunication with the Recording service.
Try disable firewall, virus etc and also disable UAC. Good luck!

Hi,

I tried disabling the Firewall, the UAC is already turned off in my system.
What else can be done to make it work ?

Thanks,

I wonder if you've got this problem: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=41380

If you read to the end of the thread you'll see where someone identifies the likely culprit, although I don't know if you'll find any exact solution in there.

edit: in that thread you'll also find some test programs that explicitly test .net remoting... try it.

As pointed out above, the app is unable to communicate with the recording service. I'd first check GBPVRRecordingService.exe is in the process list in the Task Manager. (tick the 'show processes from all users' checkbox)

The service is in the task manager.
What else can I check?
Is there anything I can use to debug the problem?
Any tools? (I know that other media center tv recording apps have in the settings window an option to see a preview of the tuner, is there such a utility for gbpvr?).

Thanks,

I'm guessing some firewall software or antivirus or netnanny software is getting in the way of communication. This has been the case ever time this was reported in the past few years.

The firewall is closed, the antivirus is lame and does nothing, and don't have any other application of that kind.
You want to tell me there is no option to make it work on my computer?
It's a shame. I wanted to use it instead of Media Portal, but seems like I don't have much options...
