GBPVR crashed and now an installation error

GBPVR stopped working for me. I was getting a .NET error of "Invalid character in the given encoding Line 632, position 153" So I uninstalled and tried to reinstall but now I get the same message BertB gets. "Installation ended prematurely because of an error" I used SystemSharks recommendation of "MSIEXEC /i "C:\temp\GBPVR.msi" /L*v "C:\TEMP\GBPVR.txt" " which gives me the attached log.
Any ideas of a fix?

I have also tried a system restore multiple times to a different date each time and doing the install on those days and I still get the same error

This most likely meant there was a funny character in your config.xml (at line 632, position 153).

Sorry, unfortunately I cant help you with this installer error. I cant read these logs, and this MSI stuff is very mystery to me, but hopefully someone else will have some tips for you.

I finally got it installed. I have no idea yet which steps fixed it since I disabled and uninstalled a lot of programs.

Right. I've got your MSIExec log file, I'll see if I can spot something...

Thanks, even though I have everything fixed I am still curious to see if the fault can be found.

According to your log file, 'InstallFinalise' action failed to complete.....

when it failed... did it complete all the actions and rollout at the last minute ?
