I have ran gbpvr for plus 2 years without issue. But my xp crashed and reinstalled with the latest version of gbpvr and I get the message "Sorry your system does not support the required VMR9 video render".

The recording status icon comes up and tuning assistant finds all the channels, but no live tv. Have direct x 9.c installed. Win tv works, but I can't stand it.

Am using an hauppage wintv 1600 on analog.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Did you install the latest drivers for your video card? What video card is it?

I get that error on Vista when trying to use Overlay.. (weird that it gives an error about VMR when you're trying Overlay). See if that's the case for you; try another renderer like VMR 9 Custom and see if it works.

It must be your video drivers, because I have essentially the same graphics card (X1950Pro) on my desktop which runs VMR9 just fine. An older gb-pvr test machine used a 9500 Pro, which also worked perfectly with VMR9.

Yeah, I had all kinds of problems with my ATI HD2400 when I woke it up from a previous EPG update using VMR9 FSE. Would always have that same message after the EPG update has taken place. Try VMR9 Custom in config. I think that was the solution for me. I needed to use this setting anyway... any custom plugin like Zinc Beta 3 or the Netflix Watch Now plugin wouldn't get focus if it was on VMR9 FSE and would be behind PVRX2 so I couldnt see/use it.

As for your live TV problem, what render(s) have you tried?

Can you post your pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log files?

make sure to do a complete removal of old drivers and reboot before installing new ones...
[using ati remover in add/remove programs]
if that doesn't work, try installing latest dx9 updates..
if that doesn't work, try 8.11 drivers...Smile

they seem to have stopped working on X series cards as newest ati drivers don't have *any* in them..[only HDxxx cards in cat 9.7]

Oops! Used driver cleaner.net and reinstalled cat 8.12 and problems are resolved. :o Thanks for all your help, as I certainly find this program the best pvr that I have tried.
