Hello,

I have a problem with my PVR and it's kind of annoying: I can only watch one channel. I thought this problem was because I had the GBPVR and WinTV. I had the WinTV because I was experiencing problems (config issues) with it. I uninstalled the WinTV, but I'm getting the same problem. Thanks for your time with this issue

Hi there,

think you need to be more precise with your system specs. You say you had WinTV running so guess you've got Hauppauge Card? Analogue or Digital? If you had config issues with WinTV then this may spill over into GBPVR...... What were config issues in WinTV?

System Specs:

Win 7
AMD Opteron Dual Core 165
nVidia GeForce 9400GT
Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1600.

It's an analogue signal. But there wasn't a problem when I watched TV with WinTV. I only used it because I was having problems with the set-up and overall configuration of GBPVR. Specifically, I'm not really sure what the problem was. I just had to reconfigure my capture source multiple times.

With the WinTV, I got everything setup correctly and I was able to watch different channels, but I wanted to record and so I switch to GBPVR

So config issues with WinTV not a problem? You can (or could before uninstalling WinTV) change channels with WinTV? If that is the case sounds to me like you haven't set up channels in EPG source correctly for GBPVR. BUT I'm sure I could be wrong 'cos I've been using GBPVR for so long now I've forgotten how to set up from scratch!

If we're talking Analogue input here have you set up channels in GBPVR?

The channels are setup in GBPVR, but I did change their name. Instead of like Channel 1,Channel 2, etc, I named them according to what my cable provider gives me

Guess I'm not so bothered about where/when/what you changed name of channels, what we're trying to get to bottom of here is why channels won't change in GBPVR? Is this still the issue? No channel change? BTW welcome to GBPVR Community!

Thanks! I think if I redownload the tvxml data and just go fresh with it, I'm hoping that'll work. Now if only MSN Listings Scrapers worked functionally, that'd be great

OK,

hope you get going here. What concerns me is this:

Quote:Specifically, I'm not really sure what the problem was. I just had to reconfigure my capture source multiple times.

Try to keep your new GBPVR install as clean as possible. Experience has taught me this. The database can get a little squiffy. If, as I see, you are a new user it is best to play with it before committing, but once you commit it will prove to be the best PVR you ever downloaded.

Thanks Sub!

Cheers

We'll see. I only have one capture source so we'll see how it happens. I've heard that this is the best and despite the fact that I haven't recorded or watched tv, the TV guide system is exactly what I want to see when I watch tv.

When you created a capture source, did you select "Analog Recording Plugin", then in the settings to the right, set the "Type" To the 1600 Analog, then the XMLTV stuff, then the "Internal Tuner"?

If that is all ok, you may want to re-read in the wiki how to setup the Capture source and XMLTV EPG. I am wondering if your renaming the EPG messed it up. You should try to use things as they are until you know it works. After that, start tweaking all you want. Adding tweaks to things before you knew what worked can leave us at a loss of being able to help.
