Hi,

I tried to make a clean Windows 7 Install to try how it performs with gbpvr and my hardware. I set up a TT 1501 DVB-C card (Germany) and tried the DVB EPG Broadcast because with the xmltv plugin which I am using up till now, I don't get any data from the only digital channels. After setting up some channels (because the automatic scan does only find about the half of the channels) I started the EPG update, after searching for some minutes the programm stops, but when I try to open the program guide, it closes immediatelly and I see nothing. Where should the data be stored and what is going wrong? When I use my Samsung TV, each channel has its EPG data.

Greets from germany.

I'm pretty sure DVB EPG's can only be obtained from DVB-S (satellite, not cable). The EPG data gets stored directly into the database, which can be viewed by an SQL database reader, but you shouldn't need to do that. AFAIK, you need to find an XML EPG, either Schedules Direct, or MC2XML, etc. Perhaps someone who is more familiar with this can supply more info.

It can be pulled form DVB-S/T/C.

I have set up an installation with a TT-1501 at a friend's place. DVB-EPG does indeed work on DVB-C with cable operator KDG. Others might use different stream recombinations and handle EPG differently. Which is your cable company?

It looks like it found at least some listings:

Quote:2009-10-26 22:00:53.442 VERBOSE [9] About to return final DVB EPG channel list. Count = 10
2009-10-26 22:00:53.442 VERBOSE [9] - channel RTL Television : 239 shows
2009-10-26 22:00:53.442 VERBOSE [9] - channel RTL 2 : 192 shows
2009-10-26 22:00:53.442 VERBOSE [9] - channel Super RTL : 267 shows
2009-10-26 22:00:53.442 VERBOSE [9] - channel VOX : 193 shows
2009-10-26 22:00:53.442 VERBOSE [9] - channel n-tv : 408 shows
2009-10-26 22:00:53.442 VERBOSE [9] - channel SAT 1 : 100 shows
2009-10-26 22:00:53.442 VERBOSE [9] - channel ProSieben : 125 shows
2009-10-26 22:00:53.442 VERBOSE [9] - channel kabel eins : 132 shows
2009-10-26 22:00:53.442 VERBOSE [9] - channel 9 Live : 65 shows
2009-10-26 22:00:53.442 VERBOSE [9] - channel MTV Music : 10 shows
Are you expecting listing for lots more channels? or are these set not showing up in the TV Guide (even after restarting PVRX2)?

Damn it, these are the channels i added. I tried the "update epg" button from "edit recording source" three times and there were no informations, and now they are there. What is the difference between his buton and the one in the system menu?

Thank you sub for your awsome quick help!

It took a while until I had time to continue with changing to dvb broadcast. Now I added all my desired channels and when I update the epg, some channels are missing. Unfortunatelly these a very major channels in germany like ard and zdf. On my tv the epg for these channels exist (a few commercial channels does not transmit anything). Which log is needed to find the reason for the missing channels, or does a full ts stream of that channel help?

BTW is there any user from germany, bw who uses dvb-c with epg broadcast that could give me some information? Thanks.
