Uninstall option missing from Control Panel. GBPVR live tv would not change channels and sound was choppy. Removed GBPVR by deleting Program Files\Devnz. Tried to reinstall 1.4.7 but receive error message: "Installation could not complete because of error". Using regedt32 as administrator; deleted all registry entries with Devnz or GBPVR. Tried to reinstall 1.4.7 but receive the same error message. Downloaded a fresh copy of 1.4.7 and tried to reinstall but receive the same error.

the actual wording of the error message is "The installation ended prematurely because of an error."

I did try "sc delete gb-pvr recording service" but since I've already removed all gbpvr registry entries this was not really applicable.

I've gotten this error a few times and use control panel to uninstall the program then delete the directory and reinstall.

Since the remove option was not present I had to delete the installation the hardway by deleting the Devnz directory (which is not easy in w7) and clean the registry. thanks far answering anyway.

Did you install the VC Redistributable package? Other than that, the Event logs should show why the installation failed.

where is the install log? It rolls everything back so there is no GBPVR folder to have a log in it.

I meant the Windows Event log. Right click My Computer and select "Manage". You will see "Event Viewer".

:-) I spent about an hour going thru the registry manually and removed ever reference to DEVNZ, PVRX2 and GBPVR and finally it allowed me to install without error -- was likely the long way around but I got there :-) You guys do a bang up job on this critter :-)

I was finally able to install. There were several registry keys with GB-PVR labels that I missed when searching for gbpvr and devnz. I've now reinstalled several times trying to get the music and pictures options to work with NO success. the directories are set correctly and work with WMC. Incidently the reinstallation installed the uninstall option in the Control Panel.
