I sent this email to someone, but thought I'd go ahead and post it, too. Can someone push me toward another post?

I just bought a PVR-150, put it in and hooked it up, installed driver (but no software at all). Then downloaded GB-PVR, got the EPG and tried the remote (I selected use Hauppage IR blaster in settings somewhere).
It didn't work so I put in the Hauppage CD and installed something like IR32 and IR Blaster Wizard (though the 2nd one reported some kind of error I think - but installation went through). Then I went to "Fix INI settings"
I can't find anyway to use the software without the remote - if I click on menu I can't go down or up in the guide , don't see a mouse.
Any help would be great. I was hoping there was a Faq or guide somewhere on how to make a remote control work. I can't even get to a screen to let me see a picture or find out if any of this is working.

First check your remote works - try it with the Hauppauge WinTV2000 software. If it doesnt, then try reinstalling the Hauppauge software, or check http://www.shspvr.com/forum . There are some bugs with the Hauppauge IR software for the PVR150 (some of these are discussed recently at shspvr site).

Next, email you c:\windows\irremote.ini file to me and I'll check your GB-PVR settings are correct, but only do this if your remote is definitely working with WinTV2000.

I didn't install the WinTV2000 software. Is it required for GB-PVR to function? I only installed the (2) programs listed above. I will check the other forum.

Its not absolutely required, but you should probably install the Hauppauge software. This will ensure you have a MPEG2 decoder installed on your machine (otherwise you'll just get a black screen). It'll also give you an opportunity to verify your remote is functioning.
