hi i have a ati 650 hd card
after a clean reboot, i can use gbpvr to watch live TV for as long as i want(i think). If i surf web or watch online videos or do something that involves loading, then i start GBPVR to watch live tv, it will lag (sound get cut off, video losing frames and eventually audio die completely.). Only way to fix this was to reboot my PC.

I wanted to figure out if this is a tuner problem so i uninstalled the tuner driver and rebooted. after the reboot, the live tv picture is blank but i still get full audio, but the audio still get choppy if i use the internet before i launch GBPVR.

thanks.

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

At a guess though, its probably related to the decoders you're using.

Hi sub, thanks again. The choppiness happened again after doing some emails and a few website viewing.

I'd try setting your audio decoder to something other than 'system default'.

great after i change the audio renderer to my 7.1 sound card, it sounds perfect but the video is still very choppy. I guess i now i have to select the correct mpeg-2 playback video decoder?

one thing i dont understand is these settings are under "playback" doesnt that mean playback of recorded videos or tv shows? why does this affect live tv?

thanks

Its still playing a live stream, and needs decoders to do that.

im still getting no luck on the video, still lags after a few seconds into live tv. I tried to select every decoder i can but same lag appears. I even downloaded K-lite codec pack and used their FFDshow decoder under mpeg2 play back and advanced codec but no change.

My audio is still perfect and for some strange reason, the GBPVR tuningassistant.exe is giving me perfect video signal when it was scanning thru the channels. thanks.

At the end of the day, GB-PVR doesnt do the playback itself. Instead it relies on the decoder and renderers on your machine, so the problem is definitely occurring in there somewhere.

Maybe try installing/selecting this audio and video decoder:

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPA_Decoder.htm

With these decoders also set your audio renderer back to 'system default', since other audio renderers can cause sync issues.

i was able to get those codec then ran regsvr32 /u xxxxx.ax to register them. But in the gbpvr config playback tap, these codec did not show up. Am i missing a step? i rebooted too. Thanks.

If you're on Vista/Win7 you might need to command prompt with 'run as administrator' for running the regsvr32 commands (otherwise the filters might only be available to your user account)

EDIT: dont use "/u" in the command line. Thats for unregistering.
