First of all, I am using fireSTB with the channel.exe command sent over firewire to a Motorola DCH-3200 STB.

My channels change ok using firewire and the fireSTB channel.exe, but whenever a new recording starts on the same channel as the recording just before it, the info screen pops up. This screws up the first 2 or 3 minutes of the show.

Any idea why this info screen would be popping up when changing to the same channel it is already on? If so, any idea how to stop this from happening?

The channel info screen will always pop up on the DCHs after a channel change. It doesn't matter if it's the same channel or not. Or is it the program inf screen that is popping up?

My DCT62xx works fine with firewire channel changing using the channelw.exe. No program info or guide-type popup. I think whurlston has the answer (like usual).

If the guide is showing up, then you have a wrong key sequence happening. I'm not even sure how to pull up the guide except through the guide button. If you go to the guide setup in your DCH, what setting do you have for auto-tune?

Im not sure what you mean. This only happens when the command is ran to change to the same channel that it is already on. Can somebody tell me exactly what command they are running in their channel.exe configuration?

OK, I changed from using "-f -a0 4 {channel}" to "-f -a1 4 {channel}", and it doesnt happen anymore.

It seems when a 3 digit channel changes slowly it would bring up the guide if it was already on that channel, and then the guide would go away when sending the command again.

Seems to be all good now, I cant even get the guide to show up the way it was before while using the new command no matter how hard I try.

By default, channel.exe sends a 3 digit channel number and an "OK" keypress. The STB already tunes automatically by 3 digit keypresses so the guide is being brought up when the "OK" is sent.

The options for your channel.exe should include "-a1". This tells it to only send the digits and not the "ok" keypress.

If that doesn't fix it, on your STB remote do the following:

Press "Menu".
Select "Home" (Main Menu).
Select "Setup".
Select "Guide Setup"

There should be an entry for "Channel Entry behaviour" or something like that. This should be set to "No Auto-tune". This forces the STB to only tune when 3 digits are entered or the ok button is pressed.

Your channel changer setting in GBPVR should then have both the "Zero Pad..." and "Use three digit..." options checked. This forces GBPVR to send 3 digits.

I'm not running a firewire channel changer anymore since I moved to Win7 x64 where it doesn't work, so I can't help beyond that, sorry.

Edit:

I took too long to type the instructions and you found it in the meantime. I'm surprised that it worked at all with -a0

Actually its not changing channels at all now.. from a command prompt it worked fine, but not in gbpvr. I'll just try what you said and see how that works.
