Narrow Black Bars

If I play a GBPVR recording in any other media player, I have narrow black bars on each side of the picture. I'm not talking about an aspect ratio problem. The bars are much narrower than that. They do not appear if I play the recordings in GBPVR.

I can zoom in slightly to eliminate the bars. I see this only in recordings made by GBPVR.

Is there an obscure setting that would eliminate this?

What is your source and what is your capture/recording device?

The source is analog cable, and the device is the Hauppauge HVR2250. Running Windows 7 x64 on a quad core processor with 8 GB DDR3 RAM. I had an HVR1800 previously, and it did the exact same thing.

It'll most likely be part of the transmission, and the device is capturing it. The only reason you dont see it on your TV is because it normally overscans (zooms) the picture slightly, leaving the black bars outside of the visible screen.
