I decided to install NMTinstall on a second pc which is slowly becoming my main media center pc. It's been working nearly flawless on 1 pc for almost a year.
I've got most things working so I can use the PCH to view my files on the pc but when trying to access mvprmc, I get the message "the share folder no longer exist" (not good English, is it?). I'm not sure what I overlooked as the dummies guide was pretty good. I think my firewall is set correctly and I've gone over things a few times but as it's been almost a year since I set things up on pc #1, I can't remember if I did anything different this time.
Does this error message give anyone a hint as to what my problem is?
Thanks

Paul

Yes a bit of "AYBABTU" there. I suggest simply deleting the mvpmc entry from the NMT, and readding it to see if that fixes the problem.

No luck. I'll start over fresh tomorrow and see what I've missed. I thought it was a typo but I can't find one.
Thanks for the help.

I shouldn't be a typo since you should be just selecting the share from the setup menu without typing. Maybe it is something like a space in host names (bad thing to do)

I think my problem last night was I didn't install the full NMTInstall as I already had GBPVR on this system but I have now done a full install and the 'share' message goes away. However, my first time trying to access GBPVR via the PCH the icon just spun nothing happened. I rebooted and got a mkdir can' create error. Rebooted again and it just spins as it tries to connect.
What from mvpmc should be listed in the firewall?

If you are running 64 bit there is a lot that NMT Install won't do for you. The firewall needs to allow PVRx2 for TCP and UDP and GBPVRRecordingService.exe for TCP. Also you need interact with desktop ticked on the Recording Service.

That was it! Recording service interacting with the desktop wasn't checked. I remember now it was something small that made the difference. I'm in business now. The menu is huge on the tv but I think I know what I need to do. Vids and music play just fine.

Thanks for the bump on the head!
