If I create a web service that simply invokes the URL for running NMT over the share, it works fine, but only if I have already selected the mvpmc share as my source. (NMT must initialize the localhost.drives path only then).

But if I am sitting on the NMT screen in a different share, and I want to quickly switch over to NPVR, clicking on my web service fails. It must be because the path to:

http:localhost.drives:8883/NETWORK_SHARE/mvpmc/npvr.cgi -- is not active when I am not actually in that share, or source. NMT seems to disconnect shares that are not currently in use.

Anybody figure out a way where I can quickly get to NPVR via the Web Service without having to first navigate to the mvpmc share and be on that screen? Basically, any way to make the PVR share persistent?

Thanks

There are several way to simplify it. The easiest is using Jaggy's nice script that will automatically launch mvpmcx2 when you select the share so it is at most 3 keystrokes (Source (maybe Source again) #of share), You also can run a source from a USB drive and since the /etc/mvpmc mnt is permanent you can play with URL's to npvr.cgi if you really know what you are doing.

Thanks again Martin. I will look for Jaggy's script. Perhaps just sticking a cheapie USB thumb drive in each one is the answer, with a slightly modified script.
