Hi, due to a strange twist of fates I have a Terratec Cinergy S2 PCI HD capture card and a Hauppauge WinTV-CI USB adaptor.

I want to run GB-PVR on Win 7 with the above hardware, but GB-PVR never seems to 'fire-up' the CI module even when viewing live TV (the BDA drivers are installed, but don't show up when the PVR is running).

I saw some posts about a required DLL which is supplied with WinTV, but I can't install winTV to get the DLL since it refuses to install unless a Haupauge capture card is present.

Any ideas how I can make this work would be greatly appreciated!

I dont know if it'll work, but you can try placing the attached DLL in "C:\\Program Files\\WinTV\\".

Thanks for the quick response and the DLL. I put the DLL in the place you suggested; however it made no difference. Is there a way I can ask GB-PVR if it 'sees' the USB CI adaptor? Perhaps there is some configuration I am missing, or is it all supposed to be automatic?

GBPVR is no longer being developed. Try it again with the newer NPVR application, and if it's still got the same problem, I'll help you with registry settings that turn on lower level logging of this type of info.

I've uninstalled GBPVR and installed NPVR 1.5.28. It found my DVB-S2 card and scanning the channels functioned flawlessly. I selected the 'CI H/W' option when setting up the capture device. Now it displays non-encrypted channels perfectly; however, when I switch to an encrypted channel I get a black screen with no message. Nothing happens after that and I can not change channels without closing and restarting the application.

Create a c:\temp directory, and set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NPVR\LogTSWriter=1 (DWORD) in the registry, then try watching an encrypted channel from the TV Guide, then post the c:\temp\writer.txt and I'll take a look.

Hi, I couldn't find the registry entry you indicate, the only place I found a NPVR entry was under the current user (not the local machine). I added a DWORD there, but no log file was generated. I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Can you please reconfirm or am I doing something wrong in regedit?

Since you're on 64 bit try HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\NPVR\LogTSWriter=1

You'll need to create the registry setting. It wont already exist.

Can you try watching an encrypted channel, then post your npvr.log and nrecord.log?
