NPVR recognizes my HDhomerun, but does not recognize my WinTV PVR2 USB2 as an installed device. I have followed the instructions in the sticky and read the other posts on this subject with no luck; specifically:
-Installed WinTV 7. TV reception and recording worked normally. I copied the contents of its SoftPVR folder (9 files) to C:\Program Files\NPVR and registered the three .ax files. Checked the registration using Filtercheck (WinTV present - log attached) and GSpot (files successfully registered in NPVR folder). Uninstalled WinTV to avoid contention and rechecked registration (everything still OK). Still no WinTV PVR2 USB2. Device is present in Device Manager.
-Would appreciate any suggestions. Logs attached.

Windows 7 32 bit.

Can you run filtercheck.exe from GBPVR, then post the filtercheck.log?

Sub, I only have NPVR installed, not GBPVR. The NPVR filtercheck log was included with the other logs attached to my last post.

Sorry, I didnt notice the filtercheck.log there.

You could try adding this to the AnalogDevices.xml:

Code:
    <Device filter="Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB2 Encoder">
        <Name>Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB2</Name>
        <Type>HARD_ENCODE</Type>
    </Device>

I've just dug though my box of USB devices, but unfortunately I dont seem to have that same device. I've only got the slightly later model (which looks identical, but has different chipset inside).

Perhaps this (just taking a guess - the filtercheck is different than the other cards I've looked at):
Code:
<Device filter="Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB2 Encoder">
    <Name>Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB2</Name>
    <Type>HARD_ENCODE</Type>
    <FilterEncoder>Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB2 Device</FilterEncoder>
</Device>

My thanks to both of you. The entry suggested by johnsonx42 did cause the device to appear. But I am still somewhat puzzled - when I highlight the device and click "Device Setup" there is no "scan" button. There is an "Add" button. Is there a manual process to add channels somehow?

scanning is only for digital devices. you can add analog channels manually on the device setup screen by clicking Add, or import channels from your EPG source by clicking Import. The latter is certainly preferred. have you setup an EPG source yet?

I have not. I used Schedules Direct with GBPVR but I do not know how or if that can be done with NPVR yet. What I am about to try is to reinstall WinTV7, do a channel scan, try to find where it stores the result and try to import from that file. That would give me the active channels, but not the EPG listings.
