ConnectPins failed / PVR-500 MCE / WinXP

Hey there,

when I try to start GB-PVR or the tuner application, I get an error ConnectPins failed. After that an error comes that some VideoOut pin can't be connected to a VideoIn pin (I'm not at home at the moment so I don't have the exact error msg). The tuner application will joyfully scan the frequencies after the error, but ofcourse the screen remains black on all of them.

Searched the forums, but it doesn't look like anyone experienced this problem before.

Any ideas?

ich gehe mal davon aus, dass du ein deutsches betriebssytem hast. da besteht das problem, dass hauppauge einige der pins ins deutsche übersetzt hat.
lade dir graphedit (google) herunter und kontrolliere die bezeichnung der pins. bei mir musste ich in der direct.ini für meine karten den pin für "analog video in" auf "analoger videoeingang" ändern.
eine genauere anleitung könnte ich dir aber erst morgen schreiben.

mz-system: thanks for the re. I'll check it out when I get home. I'm in the netherlands, so I don't know if it's a german card, but might be similar. As I'm also using linux (trying to get ivtv/mythtv to work) I do know what chips and tuners I have, if required I can post the numbers.

Anyways, I don't speak german, but I got most of your post, as dutch is pretty similar. No need to post in english

driver-version: hauppauge v2.0.18.22280 (date 06.10.2004)

the language depends on the systemlanguage i think, because the drivers ist from hauppauge.com

best way is to verify this with graphedit

Thanks guys, I found it. Think the language is indeed windows (or directx) dependant. Found the analog video in it's called &quot;Analoge video-ingang&quot; which is the dutch translation.

Found it on the &quot;Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II Capture&quot; filter. Been checking some of the other pin names, can't seem to find them all, but strangely enough, although there's more dutch in the filters, most of the pins still seem to have their english name. So changing only this one appears to be enough for me. The tuner is running and found several channels already.

I think it would be a good idea to have everyone that has problems submit their language differences. Then they could be attached to the country selection. If the thing fails with the english name, it can try the one for the specific country.
