Everything works ok for me except for scheduled recordings. When the recording starts, I get this error message:

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]gbpvrrecordingservice.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.

Process id=0xa28 (2600), Thread id=0xd50 (3408).

Click OK to terminate the application.
Click CANCEL to debug the application.

The recording starts ok and does record correctly unless I click OK or Cancel which will stop it. But then after recording, I can't schedule another recording without restarting gbpvrrecordingservice and clearing the recording schedule in the mdb file.

I have tried reinstalling and using the installutil procedure but still have the problem.

I have XP and a Hauppauge 150 card.

Thanks for any help.

Hello,

I just downloaded GB-PVR with a new 150 and a Gateway E5000.

Is this a known error? What additional information do you need to isolate the problem.

I've attached a screen capture of the error message.

I am getting the same error now after doing a clean installation to troubleshoot another issue. I did download the latest version of gbpvr before installing again.

I do have WinTV2000 installed and that is working correctly with scheduled programming. Like others have said, this only happens with scheduled recordings.

The interesting thing is that I had GBPVR installed previously and was able to successfully setup recordings. The only issue I encountered was that sound would not record when switching channels from a back-to-back recording. That is why I uninstalled everything and reinstalled.

The scheduler from Hauppauge works correctly. I have tried numerous clean installations but this has not fixed the problem. The only thing I can think of is that the installation of the Hauppauge WinTV2000 and scheduler may be interferring with GBPVR. I would hate to uninstall these programs as it took considerable effort to get the audio and video streams both working.

Edit: Oh, btw, the recorder fails no matter if it is a current program, a program scheduled for later today, or a program scheduled for tomorrow.

Reproduce the problem, then email your logs to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look.

Its not something I've ever seen on my machines.

I too am having this problem, and also have the Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program, making sure to remove all old settings, and this did not fix things.

My process ID's and Thread ID's change from error to error, though.

I am using the latest drivers off of Hauppauge's website. I could attempt to use the ones from their CD and see what happens, though I believe they are older. I have attempted to debug, but do not have the necessary JIT debugger required to see what is reported.

I think I have found the solution to this, at least for me.

I thought about it for a bit, and after looking at my logs, didn't see anything wrong. However, the log was trying to use the Hauppauge irBlaster to change to the correct channel. I thought "Wait a second, don't I only need the IR Blaster set up if I'm using a set-top box?" So, I went back into Config and changed the remote settings to "No Remote Required", and restarted the recording service. Recording has now taken off for the program I was testing; we'll see how this works.

For someone who's new to the program (well, new to HTPC stuff, that is), that one option is just a little confusing. Is there an up-to-date manual on configuring all the options in GBPVR? I've read what documentation I can find but it doesn't seem entirely up-to-date. Even so, GBPVR has the best setup of anything I've worked with so far, and I appreciate you offering it up for free, Sub. If I get it up and running right on my hardware, I'll certainly donate.
