So, just installed npvr hoping it was going to work....
Big problem is no picture. Sound but no picture. I am in Estonia so the tv is mpeg4. I do have ffdshow installed and that shows under decoders. But the first problem I guess is that when I open the settings box I see in red Directx runtimes not available on this machine. But I have directx installed. Tried installing directx9 and the installer said I have more recent directx and then quit. So how to deal with this problem first please?
Many thanks

Ha, yes, ok I try for the third time.;-) And the same message from the directx9 installer,

DirectX setup has determined that a newer or equivalent version of DirectX has been installed already. No installation is nessecary.

So, what is the next step I wonder...

Ok, I have checked with dxdiag and i have directx 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) installed and working. I tested with dxdiag.

Sorry, I dont know then. I'm not an expert in the various versions of DirectX available, and how install order affects things.

Personally I use the ArcSoft H.264 decoder for my MPEG4 channels, but I think some people have reported successfully using the ffdshow decoder. Its probably a matter of making sure the correct codec (H.264) is enabled in the ffdshow settings. You may also need to make sure the 'nextpvr.exe' executable is on the application white list in the ffdshow settings.

Correct codec..check
NextPVR allowed to use ffdshow...check
Decoder options in npvr are also cyberlink powerdvd. But these don't give me picture either :-(
I will look for arcsoft decoder and try.

When you did a channel scan, did it correctly identify the channel as H.264, or did it say MPEG2? This can happen, and leads to no video.

I'm successfully using the Cyberlink H.264 decoder, so it should work for you too. Are these channels dvb-t? Encrypted/FTA?
