Hi there, I just upgraded from GBPVR to NPVR and I'm having problems right off the bat, it's not detecting my card at all. I've tried updating drivers/reinstalling NPVR and it just refuses to detect it. I haven't had any problems on GBPVR with it detecting my device. Anyone know what's wrong?

I'm doing the same thing myself, and in the Survival Guide it clearly states:
johnsonx42 Wrote:Analog Capture Devices:
For ALL analog capture devices, you will need some of the Hauppauge SoftPVR components. If your Analog capture source does not show up in Devices, then the needed components are missing. If you first install WinTV7 (not 6, 7!) you will have the needed components installed. You can download WinTV7 from Hauppauge if you have an earlier WinTV CD available AND have a supported Hauppauge device installed: http://hauppauge.lightpath.net/software/...d_2.2d.exe. See the wiki for additional installation options: http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...ugeSoftPVR

Some Analog devices will also need an appropriate entry added to the AnalogDevices.xml file; if your analog device won't show up after successfully installing the SoftPVR components, run FilterCheck (see post 3), and post a support request thread with your FilterCheck.log attached as a .zip file. Here's a post from Sub that reminds me how to construct an AnalogDevices.xml entry, as I get tired of looking for it every time I want to make one for someone: http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...post386495
It seems it doesn't matter if the analog tuner has a hardware encoder or not. If it's analog NPVR will require SoftPVR's components to use it.

It does not need the SoftPVR components, but it needs the MUX in order to save the recordings as .ts files. I seem to remember that you need all the .ax files containing mux in filename. And they must be registred with regsvr32.exe.

You will need the mux for analog, but might as well have all the files in case you install another card in the future. Be sure to edit the bat file if you go with option 2 in the wiki, it is named for an older version than what is available now (2.2 vs. 2.3).

Good call Wink Wiki temporarily amended to make a note of this. Cheers Snooze.
