Hi all,

I have been using SageTV for years on and off. I recently moved into a new house and had grand ideas of having the whole place SageTV wired (or wireless as it were).

Anyhew - due to the Google buyout, this is no longer an option.

I looked at GBPVR ages ago, but back then it wasn't quite so polished. Downloaded the other day, and I have to say that I am very impressed with what is going on here now.

So newbie questions (sorry for being lazy):
1. Can I receive HD content using my PCTV 290e DVB-T2? (if not, is this on the cards?)
2. What are the extender options? (dream would be AppleTV 2, I have a couple of MVP's but they are slooooow and non HD)
3. Is there any kind of client for osx (use my mac mini at present)
4. Are channel logos an option?

I genuinely hope that this all fits the bill, as so far I am liking nPVR, a lot.

Welcome! You probably should post this questions in the support forum. I can answer no.4, that's a yes. Smile

For #4 yes icons are an option. I have written a utility to import your recording library, recurring recorinds ("Favourites") and existing SageTV channel icons into NPVR.

And I would be very surprised if #1 is not a yes, although I cannot say for sure.

Yes, this should work fine.

Like SageTV, the choices for extender devices is pretty limited. The reality is that you'd need to device manufacturer to want their device to be usable as a client - they'd need to provide technical information etc.

For HD extender devices you can use the Popcorn Hour A100/110, eGreat m34a. It also supports the MediaMVP, but this is slow and non HD. You can also use PC's as client devices.

No. You can use Win7 on your mac mini if desperate though.

Quote:4. Are channel logos an option?
Yes.

I guess someone really enterprising could try to compile the linux client on OSX. the issues involved are WAY over my head, but it should be possible perhaps with some code changes.

Did someone mention something about an Android client sometime ago?
