I have no idea. It could be network or disk, but something was frozen. I know my PC freezes from time to time for antivirus updates, some windows updates and even to adjust the page file. If your servers does more then just serve NPVR I'd expect occasional glitches.

I must admit I do miss resume... never seemed to work after NPVR was installed.

BrettB explained it, but I think you only need to guard the first few seconds. NPVR requires that I send the time stamp of the file as a reference time unfortunately if that time is also a comskip point it will skip even if resume had been indicated.

Thanks Brett; 180 secs => 3 mins? Can I reduce it to say 30 secs?

I think that you can. Back in the GBPVR days (before the timing.info), GBPVR needed more playing time right at the beginning to properly determine the recording length or something for proper skipping. But with NPVR, I don't think that issue exists anymore. I have found that comskip doesn't always get the beginning of a recording detected correctly (with pre-padding, no commercials between show transitions, etc.). So, I have just gotten used to having all recordings begin playing at the start of the recorded time, and then I use the 1 minute skip forward button to skip over the pre-padding where appropriate.

Network Specialist here....

jksmurf Wrote:Can ONE PC have two IP Addresses?
Yes, however there are some VERY specific reasons you never do this....

jksmurf Wrote:currently has an IP of 192.168.1.10 on the Intel NIC, can I assign the Onboard Yukon NIC an IP of 192.168.1.20
Never have a PC (or any other Ethernet IP layer device) on a network with 2 or more IP addresses on the same subnet, in your case you have 192.168.1.0/24 (192.168.1.* subnet 255.255.255.0), this means each device on your network should only have one connection using the above IP format.

Unless you have 2 network segments (which you don’t, you need 2 totally separate switches or hubs, and there’s no reason for that), then you can have 1 PC (or server or other hardware device) to have 2 IP address on 2 separate NIC (meaning 2 different MAC addresses.

A singular NIC (MAC address) with 2 different IP addresses will mean up to double the network traffic for no reason, the amount of companies i have fixed with this sort of problem as most people will think "more is better" meaning a PC with 3 network connections make it faster, its not the case, in fact the opposite is the real result.

Even HP had a bug with there ML series servers with this inside there IP layer management (2 cards on the same network layer to try increase speed), internal bulletin said to disable this as it didn’t work.
Many Thanks
Ashley
