Installed AMD Catalyst 11.10 today (WHQL Just out overnight) on Vista with SAF6 and HD5760 Graphics Card.
All seemed OK until tried to watch TV and Video - nothing would play.
I've narrowed it down to the EVR Renderer both Standard in NPVR and Custom in MPC-HC. VR9 renderer plays OK.
Went back to 11.9 all is OK - tried a second time still same problem - so I am now back on the 11.9 drivers.
Have AMD done it again - surely the EVR renderer is a pretty basic part of the graphics drivers to mess up??
Or is it just my system.
Oh well lets see if 11.11 work when they come out Rolleyes
It's not an overly complicated system - it's more - overly simple operatives  Huh

Nothing would surprise me - they broke HDMI to Panasonic TVs about a year ago and it took them months to fix it. Based on your experience, I think I'll stay clear of 11.10. Let us know if anything changes.

Bill.

I used to load the latest Catalyst drivers as they were released. Its always a risk to load new releases but more so with AMD who seem to have a more than reasonable failure rate. I had repeated issues and would then back date to an older release. Now I have removed them all together and just let W7 load what it will. Someone at AMD needs a good spanking.

Using NextPVR on AMD E-450, with latest 11.10 drivers. No problems seen.
Maybe, rollback to an older driver.

They are working fine with my system as well, but I have seen a couple of posts by people on different forums that have had various issues and had to roll back. It probably depends on your video card and the various features being implemented as well as the software that may be sending the video. Lots of combinations affect how video is rendered.

The sad part is that problems like this aren't isolated incidents. Both ATI and nVidea are in such a hurry to release the next great update that they don't fully test everything, especially stuff they don't specifically work on in the release. It doesn't mean that it isn't affected though. I had to roll back the drivers for my nvidea video system several generations to fix a problem a couple of years back. It took nVidea months to fix it.
