I've got an eGreat (PCH compatible without harddisk) working perfectly with NPVR. I operate the device with a Logitech Harmony.

To get some more control using the eGreat as music player (MusicBox plugin) I connected a USB keyboard. The keyboard works fine on the generic interface (without NPVR), but apparently the mvpmc2 trick only passes the cursor keys, etc., but not the alphanumeric keys.

Is there a way to pass all alphanumeric keys through mvpmc to the NPVR interface? So I can choose songs more conveniently in MusicBox?

You'll have to ask sub for this, I checked and mvpmcx2 still does send them but I don't think they aren't passed to plugins. I do remember asking for it a few times. The keyboard did work in GBPVR and it is still works so hopefully this won't be too much work.

That sounds plausible. Cursor keys, enter key, etc, work fine. Generally there is no big need in NPVR for alphanumeric keys, but it would be helpful in MusicBox to select songs/artists, etc.

You can use the numbers 2-9 like a telephone key pad http://myfunflorida.com/wp-content/galle...keypad.png (the letters for them are on the NMT remote, I don't know about the Harmony) and RW is backspace, and MB4 does try to skip missing combinations. It is a bit of a pain to learn

Remind me next weekend (when I'm back in NZ) and I'll check why the keyboard keys aren't making it through.

Martin, indeed, that is possible. But just because it is a pain, I tried to connect a USB keyboard, and found out that on either the Harmony or the USB Keyboard the number and cursor keys (and Enter, and Space, etc.) work, but the alphanumerics do not...

Btw, I got this keyboard:

But it does not work with a regular cabled USB keyboard either.

I just got one of those - a most useful and compact device. (the pictures should have included one being held in a hand to show size!).

The a-z keys do work with a USB keyboard, as I said I confirmed it with GB-PVR (and also with Wireshark) so after sub looks at it for the next version it might be okay.

As for the Rii, looks like a nice keyboard and the video on YouTube shows that it has nice backlighting too. However the bluetooth receiver has to provide full USB keyboard compatibility w/o drivers for it to work on the PCH.

As far as I found the Rii keyboard works fine on the NMT, but not on NPVR. It does not require a special driver. Anyway, I tested with a regular cabled USB keyboard to make sure the problem is not in de Rii.

It looks like there may be different models, mine is a BT-MWK02 (bluetooth) and does need drivers, so is not detected by the NMT.
