PCH A100 - "Could not Play" AVI via nPVR

Not sure if anyone else has reported this, and I have no logs as it was last night, and my new machine suspends/wakes up and overwrote the logs.

So not on the latest mvpmcx2, I'll update that first, but was watching on PCH via my plex plugin an AVI file. After about 10 mins the "Could not play" message came up. Tried another episode and got the same thing.

Exited npvr and used PCH interface, and played the episode all the way through.

Is there something that could send a stop command to the PCH? or would this just be a network issue? Any ideas on cause?

Before the rebuild the PCH was running fine.

That would typically be a loss of networking but it could be the recording service stopping, because that stops the web server that results in this error too.

Hmm ok. But it seemed the service was running, as the server did all it's epg updates etc this morning. Also I have monitoring on the service, and it was up.

I'd find it odd that the network had issues, if playing direct in with the pch didn't.

If you provide logs I'd be able to give a better answer. Samba streaming is quite different from http streaming too. Isn't your share on a different box? If so maybe your new PC went to sleep?

Yeah i'll try and catch the logs today if it does it. Yeah they are on different machines, but after I got the could not play, npvr was responding for me to restart it (and pretty much instantly)

If you got the NextPVR interface back, an immediate "could not play" is normally something simple like the new PC not having the correct share permissions for local system to talk to the share. It doesn't explain why you could play 10 minutes unless you lost access to the share. I don't see it as an mvpmcx2 issue at this point.

Here's a log from the other night...recordngs are even worse, just hand the pch.

Being mosly likely a network issue, any ideas where I'd look? The motherboard has changed so I'll check for duplexing etc on there, but nothing else has changed.

You missed the web.log, it is very important. However there looks like there is a major problem maybe in the Plex Plugin Are you issuing a seek command on avi files to the NMT? If not it probably is something for sub to look into.

Hmm with plex, wonder of its trying to honour the resume. There won't be any code differences so it will try and get the NMt to skip. I'd probably have to make it. It do that.

I'll have another test this afternoon and post the web.log as well.
