New to samsung app

Hi guys
I just saw this info. I use old popcorn hours to run NPVR and I need another. Are you saying I can use a Samsung Bluray player to do the same? and if so will the BD-7500 be the best model?
If this works the same I will be so pleased.

its working on 2012 and 2013 devices. I'm not sure what the BD-7500 is. usually they have a letter A-F before the number, eg BD-F7500. Where that letter indicates the year, f = 2013, e= 2012, d = 2011 etc

Unfortunately reven didn't take me up on my offer to beta test so I can't give a hands on opinion but in general the huge advantage is that it uses web technology and is much more future proof as long as Samsung provides api compatibility and enhances their player.

The biggest difference is the PCH basically provides the NextPVR user interface faithfully running as a thin client supporting almost all functions, skins and plugins in NextPVR like the PC clients only a little slower. Reven's app and look & feel are his approximation and selection of features some of which could even improve on some NextPVR weaknesses. He possibly will charge for this but that will not necessarily be a downside as it also provides more motivation to add functionality. The PCH's Sigma chip plays a good mix of media and handles a mix of ts files well. On the Samsung this is yet to be determined.

Martin, what year player do you have? I got a bunch of requests and can't remember which one was yours if its 2012/13 I'll send you the instructions to use the alpha.

It is a D7000 maybe not supported 2011 but it ran Plex and test api apps I made last Oct. It's easy to get D series BD for testing in the $50-60 range here refurb/overstock but they were really troublesome for me so I returned a few last year.

yeah my app doesnt work on 2011 devices, the javascript engine they use is a custom one for samsung and a bunch of stuff just doesnt load on it.
