Is there a command line form of the ARCHIVE function?
At the end of the day, after recording my shows to the local drive, I would like to move them to my NAS.

If this isn't possible, has anyone worked out a different method of doing this?

Thanx!

I simply record shows I want to archive directly to the NAS and record shows I want to watch/delete to the local drive.

Thanx for the response.
There aren't many shows that I actually keep after I watch them.
However, I'm concerned about losing them (drive failure) before I get to watch them.

I presently record everything to the NAS, but I'm noticing some droputs when recording multiple HD shows.
I thought if I went to the local drive first it might eliminate this.

You could write a batch script to move the file and add the following line to sync the db

NScriptHelper.exe -rename <old-file-name> <new-file-name>

I'm not familiar with NScriptHelper.exe.
Where can I find more info?

It would be so easy though if the archive function worked in a command line.
No one has commented if that is possible.

A command line archiver would really need to be a utility scanning for all recordings. Gathering the filenames or oids daily to manually to add to another script would be a real annoyance in my books.

Putting it in postprocessing would really only work tied in with some kind of scheduling, otherwise it just delays recording to NAS by an hour or so and the i/o concern is doubled.

My idea was to schedule it for the wee morning hours.

However, I'm discovering a new problem now with splitting the recordings between LOCAL and NAS drives.
It kinda screws up the directory filter function that Sub added; you can't see all the recordings in the same window.

This may take some more thought before making a change.
