Hi all:

Brand new to GB-PVR. I've got it basically working with little effort, but I have 2 issues that have me stumped. I'd appreciate your input.

I read in a previous post that the auto-updating for the EPG is not working, so I assume that the the 3am update won't happen. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

However, even in the config panel using the manual "Update EPG", if i don't first connect (dialup) to my ISP, the EPG update fails with "Your EPG source does not appear to be configured correctly...". If I do first connect, then the EPG update goes through without a problem. Is this the current status of GBPVR, or am I missing something?

Secondly, once I have updated the EPG (manually as described above), after closing the config, and firing up GBPVR, when I look at the TV Guide, it reports the correct system time, but what it shows (for example) for 9pm, is what should be listed for 10:30am that morning. It's like the guide is time shifted. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
John

Its working fine as far as I know. There is a known issue with clicking the 'update epg' button on the menu of the tray icon.

This description sounds correct. It doesnt try to dial for you. GB-PVR just assumes a network connection is present. If it cant get to zap2it.com, then it'll fail.

The only thing I can think of, is your PCs timezone is set incorrectly?

Thanks for the quick response Sub.

For the dial-up, I'll look into using a scheduled task to ensure the connection is available when GBPVR is going to do the EPG update. Is this how people with dial-up are currently setting up to do their EPG updates?

I was able to solve the EPG being time-offset by doing a clean install (previously I had done a rolling upgrade to the latest version).

Great S/W!

Regards,
John

To be honest, I dont know. I've seen dialup mentioned about twice. Most people here are using some form of broadband.

I'm finding random discrepencies, too.  The other night on A&E it said Ceasars 24 was on, but it was American Justice.  Just now I was trying to set up Project Greenlight to record, and the future listings it had (3/27) didn't exist, and the real showings on 3/26 where not there.

It's not widespread that I can see, and my sys time/date is correct (atomic set).  I've mannuall updated EPG as well.  It'd just some shows/times.

I've double-checked for program changes, but Yahoo had it correct (as well as channel's site).

It would have been a problem with the data supplied by zap2it. I just insert what is supplied by zap2it.
