If I just want to clear the pending recordings without removing the manual recurring recordings schedule and TV channel tunings, should I still run "-emptydb", or another option?

If I wish to delete all manual recurring recordings only, should I run "-removehistory"?

Thanks in advance.

My understanding is that -emptydb deletes everything from the database including all devices and channels and schedules and everything.

There is no command line to delete some recurring recording entries and not others ... but I suspect that I don't really understand what you are trying to do.

Ok there are mainly 2 things that I wish to do from time to time.

1) Empty the list of recurring recording entries.

2) Empty the list of pending recording entries (including the ones generated by recurring recording entries, but I wanna keep the recurring recording entries).

I don't know of any way that you can cancel a bunch of pending or recurring recording requests except by canceling each one individually.

Ok how about I try to do it indirectly? For example, by exporting the recurring recording entries to the xml file, then clearing the database, then importing?

But ... -emptydb will also delete devices and channels so you will have to re-setup everything from scratch. It is possible to export recordings, empty the database, setup the devices and channels and epg sources and all that, edit the xml files containing the exported recordings lists, import the recordings.

The NextPVR data folder (contains config.xml) should have two xml files containing recording data that are automagically created from time to time.

But ... I suspect that you would need to have a gazillion recordings for it to be quicker to empty the database and start over rather than delete individually in the Recordings screen.

I can export the devices and channels to the xml file too. Will that work?

I have just created and looked at a channel export xml file. It appears that this might do some of what you want ... export the channel list for each device before you empty the database ... empty the database ... add devices back in manually and import the channel list for each device.

http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?...vices#toc3

You can secure your existing setup by copying config.xml and npvr.db3. You can then play to your heart's content and revert to where you are now by restoring the copies of config.xml and npvr.db3.

Plus ... the npvr data folder should contain a file empty.db3 ... you can replace npvr.db3 with empty.db3 to create an empty database.

Kiwi it might help us help you if you explain what it really is you are trying to accomplish. All this exporting and emptying and importing and etc. seems an odd thing to do... what's the end goal?

Thanks. I guess it would still be useful to have a command line option that deletes the recurring recording entries only. Smile

Maybe sub can consider implementing it. No hurry though. Smile
