I'm looking for what setting in config controls when it will look at for recurring recordings.... I wonder if it's this one??

<TimeSlotMinutes>90</TimeSlotMinutes>

& if it is within what time frame does that actually mean it will schedule from??

The reason I'm asking is I missed the second last ever episode of True Blood the other night because they broadcast it half an hour earlier than normal & it didn't set to auto record.... I'm pretty sure I never had this problem with how I had GB-PVR configured...

Yes I am pretty sure that's it. On Sunday's there is a station that broadcasts the same show back to because and because of this setting I can't get a recurring recording of the second broadcast.

GBPVR used pretty much identical logic around this. If you do a timeslot recording, it defaults to looking for shows with the same name, starting +/-90 minutes of the original recording.

That was what I assumed but it failed to find one (& the name was exactly the same) that had moved to 30 minutes earlier than normal.....

I have also had this on a few occasions in the past (with other shows) & after setting up another recurring recording for the moved time the next time the show is on in it's original time slot I end up with two being recorded. Which makes me wonder if there is something not working correctly with the "pre" time slot logic but the "post" logic is working fine??

I just double checked the code, and it looks ok. If others pipe up about having a problem like this, I'll take a closer look.

I just tried to recreate it by making a fake TVGuide.xml with recurring shows at earlier times but it got them just fine.... so I'm not sure what circumstances cause it to happen... but it DOES happen, as you can get an idea of from the attached image of my recurring shows, as you can see the second occurrences are well within the 90 minute time-frame (there is at least one more show it has also happened with).

The Timeslot is at recording time. It looks like you are creating these as new recurring recordings and because of multirec NexPVR allows it. I don't see the problem since when the EPG update runs, the unique ID should prevent two recordings though.

I only ever created the "second" recurring ones (which all happen to be at (slightly but for sure within 90 minutes) earlier times) after it didn't pick up that it was supposed to be recording that evening....

unique ID doesn't seem to work (or maybe I don't have something config'ed right) in this part of the world.... getting the two recordings is just a "little annoying" unlike not noticing that it's not going to record a show & missing it completely like happened the other night & even more so that it was the "second-last episode ever" & I'm damned sure important stuff would have happened in that episode.

Not yet. 3.2.9 doesn't detect duplicate recordings being created by different recurring recordings. The next release will though.

Errr yeah I did know that but I had completely forgotten about it..... long beta cycles can do that to my tired old memory Wink
