How Do I Record a Series?

I can get NextPVR to record a show (news at 6), but I can't seem to see a way to get it to do this every day.

I just want 1 episode, because I don't watch the news every night. If I miss it 3 days in a row, I don't need to know what happened back then anyway.

From Kodi you need to use the Confluence skin for this. Some people have created patches for other skins. Kodi 16 supports series recordings I expect things will eventually get ironed out in it.

I learned long ago to never change the skins because things start mucking up.

Yes, I use Confluence in Kodi with the current release (15).

So, you are saying Kodi does not support it yet?

With the default Confluence skin in Kodi 15, when you do an 'Add Timer', it'd you usually pop a box asking if you'd like to record that show, and when you hit OK it'll show recording type popup, where you can set to 'record once' or 'record daily' etc. On this screen you can also specify the number of recording you want to keep etc.

In Kodi 16, they'll be adding native support for season recordings. Up until know it's relied on a custom popup in the addon.

I am using aeon Knox silvo skin, and when I get a popup box, it only has the record with yes or no option
So after clicking on OK nothing happens

I don't have all the options that are listed in the above post like
Recording type or pre padding or folder directory etc

As mentioned, it only work Confluence skin.

That'll change in Kodi 16, when they introduce the built-in support for series recordings.

JUst to follow up on this as I have the same question. The terminology here is bad I think. In the NPVR UI there is an option to record NEW shows on this channel and based on the wording I think it will record the show even if it moves int he time slot (sub am I right on this?). In the Kodi UI the wording is record season (daily THIS TIMESLOT) which makes me think that if the show moves time slots it will be missed. I'm going to test this out. Looking forward to Kodi 16 and native series recording.

Actually that is sub's Confiuence skin influenced by pvr-wmc The Jarvis skins use different syntax entirely https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/7079
