I've been having hardware problems that I hope are now resolved with a working HdHomerun Extend.
The new tuner appears in the device list but will not find channels when scanned. Firewalls are off and the HDView app is fine. I though maybe there was a conflict with some of the old HDHomeRun devices that are no longer anywhere in the system. I deleted all the devices and restarted NPVR. They all came back! Ideas? Comments?

TIA

I think this is just a quirk of the hdhomerun drivers. It continues to say there is drivers loaded for hdhomerun devices it's seen in the past, so nextpvr takes its words for it and adds them to the list.

I think you've got to fully uninstall the hdhomerun software and reinstall to get rid of them

I have uninstalled both NPVR and all Silicon Dust / HDHR apps. Cleaned the registry and reinstalled NPVR. All the HDHR devices returned and none will find any channels during a scan.

I read where some say to install the HDHR setup program, but that program does not apply for the Extend model.

Does NPVR work with the new HDHomeRun Extend?

Yep, sure.

I'm not really sure wht the HDHR BDA drivers are still claiming your old devices are there. It's something that needs to be solved on the SiliconDust side of the setup though, rather than in NextPVR. ie, if Windows tells NextPVR the devices are there, it believes it to be true and adds them to the list. I have certainly seen other HDHR users grappling with this in the past.

Thanks for the reply. I've deleted all HDHR software and am not sure how to proceed.

I suspect that this is a side issue. The real problem is that the Extend won't find channels in a scan.

Phrede: Do a scan that fails to find channels and then post logs ... http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...post480931

The Silicon Dust software needs to be installed to support the HDTC

I went back and uninstalled all related software, manually deleted the program folders and deleted all references to either I could find in the registry. I then reinstalled the NPVR and HDHR software. I ran the HDHR setup program and set the BFA Compatibility Mode for NextPVR. When i went to the setup devices screen in NPVR there were now only 4 tuners (2 QAM and 2 ATSC) plus the IPTV device. I selected the first ATSC tuner and did an all frequency scan. I could see the "scanning physical channel count up channels. 0 channels were found. The zipped log file is attached.

The HDHR software is finding 45 OTA channels.

Ideas? Comments? TIA

Try different values here ... I have seen it suggested that NextPVR is no longer a good choice for some reason.
