I have just installed GBPVR on my PC with a WinTV USB2 and a WinTV Nova-T PCI (old/909 version). On the config screen I have added the WinTV USB2 OK and it works. Problem is when I add the WinTV Nova-T on the config screen, I can't get the 'Map Digital Channels to EPG Channels' to work.

I set the recording source to a BDA Recording Plugin, Set Card Type (Nova-T 909), County and Region. Set the EPG to XMLTV Plugin, and import the EPG. I save these settings as per documentation and then come back to the config screen for the Nova-t. When I press the 'Map Digital Channels to EPG Channels', I get a folder dialog which says 'Point me at the config directory please'. What does this mean ? Although this dialogue appears, it stops responding, and I have to do an 'End Now' to get Windows to shut it down, which closes the config application. HELP, I can't get any further. (Note: I had to install Showshifter to get over the mpgmux.ax problem - just in case this is connected in some way). I have tried switching off virus scanner and fierwall, but get same results.

I have also put a new disk in my PCand done a clean install of XP, XP SP2 and all Windows Updates and then put Nova-T in PC and just installed latest 2.17g drivers. There is nothing else on the system (No WinTV USB2, no Hauppauge TV card software, no MVP software) - and I still get the same problem.

Could it be something to do with the XML data file? I am using Alan Birtles XMLTV utility to generate it. I have also used the same XMLTV data file for the WinTV USB2 and Nova-T, and just selected appropriate channels. Is this OK ?

HELP. Pulling my hair out (and wife is getting annoyed with me spending a lot of time on the PC) !!!!!

Did you install the BDA drivers? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but the old non-BAD Hauppauge drivers wont work.

I had someone else with this problem in the past, and it makes no sense to me. I cant see what would possibly be popping up this window.

Are you able to send me a screenshot of the window? If so, email it support@devnz.com. I'd also like a copy of your config.exe.log file.

I am at work now. Will send screenshots and log files when I get home tonight.

This morning I uninstalled the Nova-T 909 drivers from the clean XP install and installed a Nova-T 90002 (stolen from a friend) and still got the same results. I deleted the capture source from GBPVR and added another one for the new card. Got the same results as before. When I restarted the config app I noticed that I had 2 capture sources listed i.e. the old 909 I had just deleted and the new 90002. Didn't have time to investigate further - work calling. Should I have uninstalled GBPVR, deleted the GBPVR directory and reinstalled.

Do any of you people out there with working Nova-T know which drivers I should be using? I am using the latest downloaded from the Hauppauge website i.e. 2.18c (have tried 2.17g) for the 909 card and hcw13nova-t.exe (v1.3) for the 90002 card. Are these the correct drivers to use ?

I have an ASUS A7V8X motherboard with a VIA chipset. I am sure I have read somewhere (on this Forum) that there is a problem with GBPVR and VIA chipsets. Have searched for such articles but can't find. Can anyone confirm or deny this ?

Not that this is going to be any comfort but the nova-t 909 works for me (well not 100% stable but as sub has only recently supported BDA I think he has done a fine job). Sub is correct in that you are probably using the old non BDA drivers with the nova-t 909 you want the bottom drivers of this page http://www.technotrend.de/english/downlo...nload.html .
I also have a Via chip so I doubt thats your problem, I don't know why you are having problems with the 90002 card as I don't have one of them.

Thanks Herbs. Tried new BDA drivers last night and still had the same problem. Did it in a bit of a rush, so maybe I didn't do everything right......but I installed the BDA beta application off the the same Technotrend webpage and it worked, so I must have got something right. Will try again tonight.

Someone else is having the same problem: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=4754

Sub: I sent you the log files and screen shots. Any news? Did you get them?

Yes, I got your email and I replied. Unfortunately there is nothing obvious in your logs.

I cant see where this 'point me at config' directory window is coming from. As far as I can tell, it isn't generated by GB-PVR.

Can a Nova-T owner that can scan, please perform a scan then attach their Config.exe-native.log?

Below is johnnyb's for comparison. Normally at this point it gets hold of the Nova-T drivers and starts the action, but in your case it seems to popup a window... (this code has nothing that could cause this window)

I am having the same problem but with Twinhan DVB-T pci card. It work fine with the old version 0.91.05 and it’s the same BDA drivers.

Solved the problem!
Install the Cyberlink MPEG Muxer. That solved my problems.

I have exactly the same problem with a Nova-T (909) and 91.xx releases. The only version I can work with has been GB-PBVR version 90.10 (which I discovered based on reports from other Nova-T users). Fortunately this works fine but it would be nice to understand why 91.xx has introduced a problem.

Tested Versions: 91.10 and 91.11

Problem: Cannot detect any channels when scanning

System Config:

Latest Technotrends BDA drivers
MpegMux.ax v5.x.x.x
DirectX v9
Windows 2000 SP 4

Hope this helps with diagnosis. So far GB-PVR looks very promising. I hope this minor problem can be fixed relatively easily - there are new features in 91.11 (aspect-ratio toggle) I'm itching to get my hands on ;-)
