Hi All,

I am hoping someone in this forum can help me because something really odd is happening.

I have the web server enabled in the NPVR software. Default port 8866. My Windows PC has a static ip of 192.168.0.17

I am familiar with network configurations so I can assure you that my router has a port open to send all traffic to my NPVR windows PC that comes in on port 8866

Here is where things get strange for me.

I can ping my WAN IP address and get a reply. All seems to be working fine.

So, if I go to my phone or tablet, I type http:\\50.325.46.99:8866 (Not really my IP address, but, you get the picture. I just didnt want to post the real IP) and I get page cannot be displayed.

But the part that is strange is, even if I type my local IP on my tablet or phone http:\\192.168.0.17:8866, it STILL comes up page cannot be idsplayed

the only place the web server actually works is if I open a browser on the PC that has NPVR installed and use my local IP. I can't even use http:\\50.325.46.99:8866 on the PC with NPVR as it still cannot display the page.

I hope this is making sense

I attached my log files (not sure if they will help in this case, but, they are there)

Any thoughts ? Sad

Maybe ... Firewall settings on the machine with NextPVR installed?

thank you for the reply Smile

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I did check that. NPVR is allowed locally and externally.

Ports opened, no firewall blocking it. As a matter of fact, I have multiple devices that all require a port fwd when outside my LAN. they are all working. So, that leads me to believe it may be something with the NPVR client ? Can my ISP be seeing it as web traffic and be blocking it ?

Does it work from another machine on the same network?

I thought the answer to this would be "yes", but I was wrong

No other machines, phone and/or tablet can connect even while on the same network. Only PC that connects to the web service is the PC that is hosting the NPVR software

Thanks for the reply Smile

Ok. The firewall is the culprit.......I disabled the firewall on my Windows 10 PC (the one hosting NPVR) and was able to connect immediately........with ALL of my devices...........from inside my LAN and outside......so, now, I need to find out how I can set this up without leaving my firewall off. that makes me a bit nervous.

Any ideas?
