When Streaming Mode is VLC, I can't play back recorded programs, it acknowledges the keystroke but nothing happens. Live TV works fine (usually; I think there may be some dependency on the VLC settings, but I haven't tested exhaustively).

Client is Ubuntu, Kodi 17.4, Estuary. X-NEWA 2.5.2.

Log file attached.

Assuming you are using this for internet or phone use the transcode option is a better choice. Is there a specific reason for using VLC?

I first tried Transcode, but it had picket-fencing, like there is an interlacing problem, and then I tried VLC and it didn't do that, so I stuck with it.

I just reran a few tests... it doesn't always do the picket-fencing, but it reproduced on an Ubuntu client. Also the VLC bitrate setting doesn't seem to have any effect, the stream always measures about 5Mb/s.

Yes, I'm working on limited transmission bandwidth, so transcoding is my purpose. Programs come from the cable at about 20Mb/s, and I want to transmit them on wireless and internet at 5Mb/s or less.

Ok I will have a look in the next week or so. Better to work with sub since transcoding is supposed to work for internet clients.

I have quite a few clients with various setups. I can try to further narrow it down this weekend if you'd like.

Back home now, and I can see the problem with sending recordings now, it is an easy fix. Harder to test thought because NEWA isn't supporting IP for this call plus my server can't transcode HD on the fly. The transcoding options do seem to be passed fine for me.

What version of NextPVR is working for LiveTV for you?
