Could anybody point me in the right direction for a decent driver that actually works with this tuner on win 7 x64

I have tested my aerial with an xbox one tuner and a tv with built in freeveiw and all is working fine once connected to this tuner no channels found

Just thought I'd give it one last go with this tuner before I buy a different one

Why not try scanning and then post your logs?

I wouldn't say there are no errors, but as sub wrote you likely need drivers.

What's a bda capture filter?

I have tried about 4 different drivers

1 that came with the tuner on disk
1 that Windows installed on its own
1 off the internet site for the product
1 that a different person recomend

BDA is the name of a category of drivers for tuner devices that provide a standard interface to Windows apps ... so a command from an app gets the same response from all devices that use a BDA driver. In short ... the message "No BDA capture filter ..." is saying that the drivers are not working properly.

So is this a problem with drivers that came as part of Windows or the drivers that were installed for the tuner

Would I just have the same problem if I brought a new tuner

I can't diagnose the fault with the driver at this distance. You need to discuss driver faults with the supplier or manufacturer of the device. Are you sure that there is no hardware fault with the device?

I do not know of any reason why you would have a problem if you buy the Quad HD PCIe Hauppauge tuner that you have discussed. The Hauppauge webpage for the device (on the Specifications tab) says that Windows 7 is supported ...

Just to be clear, this "No BDA capture filter for this device" message doesn't indicate a problem. It's just information. Most digital devices have two components, a "tuner filter" and a "capture filter". Some just have a "tuner filter", in which case it reports "no BDA capture filter for this device".

I don't have any Realtek devices myself, but we've seen numerous reports of flakey Realtek drivers in the past, and needing to use specific versions to get them to work, so I'm assuming this is the case here too.
