Ok, yesterday I got GB-PVR working and was recording shows, all was well. I noticed one thing though..for some reason my internet connection(cable modem) stopped working after some time of using pvr 150. After I restarted machine internet would work again.

But..in the evening pvr stopped working..Now I can't get even wintv2000 to work. I tried clearing and then reinstalling drivers but nothing worked. The tuner in WinTV2000 finds channels, but when I try to watch live tv, it only shows black screen. When I try to watch live-tv in GB-PVR I get error message "Error playing back file". The live tv buffer filesize is 0. I have tried messing with overlay, but nothing.

I read somewhere that some running services could cause problems..which exactly? Could this be somekind of decoder problem? ffdshow?

What could have gone wrong? Give any pointers you can think of please..I was already so glad it worked.

Network: Is your nic card set to go to sleep to save power?
150: Sounds like you've lost the 150 drivers somehow. Win-TV and GB don't share anything to provide TV, except the card, so the card is the problem and not the programs
Services: Some can, but it's like saying, "I heard a part of my car will cause it not to run right." It needs more detail to answer. You can do what I do and search online by name for each one active.

It almost sounds like you have an overly aggrsive cleaning or monitoring program undoing much of what you do. That could be running as service, too.

If the screen is black, sounds like your video decoder driver isn't installed anymore. That decoder you can get from hauppage never worked worked worth a crap (or at all for me). I installed the demo of WinDVD and that decoder seems to be working pretty good for me for the most part. You might give that a shot.

Ok the network card had indeed "sleep mode" on..I didn't even know it had that option. Thanks!

I got the card working again, what did it finally I don't know..I terminated all the running processes which could be turned off, disabled the network card and then installed software and now it works! Only if I knew what was the problem..but anyway thanks for any advice you gave me, hopefully it keeps working this time.

Try reinstalling the card drivers, and make sure you're not using beta versions. Follow the instructiosn as if you were doing new install, and use the unstaller from their site. They shouldn't get kicked out but another process/service unless it's something else TV related.

Ok, it did it again, but I got it working by disabling my network card and then booting windows, so it seems that there is somekind of resource conflict, even if it doesn't show up in control panel. This time network and tv worked about half an hour before tv wouldn't show up anymore. I must experiment more.

It did it again and now it seems it's not a resource conflict but overheating issue. The card is in tight spot where there is no air movement, so I must install a fan and open up one pci slot so the card will have some cooling.

Now it seems to work, I have recorded several shows and no black screen anymore, so it was overheating that caused these problems.

Now there's a another problem, for some reason when I play those recordings back, picture freezes in every 7 minutes (about). I can watch the show if I restart viewing and jump to the place where it froze earlier, so the file must be ok, playing back has some problems.
