I have a Philips TV that the Hauppauge remote like to control also. I have a PVR350 and I'm using the videoout. When I try to change the channel in GBPVR my TV goes up a channel also, which stops me from being able to view the videoout of the 350. Anyway to disable this? Would getting a new universal remote do the same thing? I don't want to get a Firefly, I want a universal remote so I can control everything from one remote. Would this be possible? Any ideas?

lmao Smile, the hauppauge just uses the same frequency for channel up as your tv does, no way around this. you need to get a different remote for the computer. you could then say get a mce remote and a universal (learning is better) remote to learn the tv codes and the mce codes, but you need to buy two remotes then.

Which Philips do you have? Try this first... Comment out the line in irremote.ini that says:

0=HCWClassic

This is near the top of the code in the [system code] section
This code is used for the old school Hauppauge remote. Your remote is likely using "31=HCWPVR"

To comment it out, use a semi-colon i.e.

;0-HCWClassic

Please let me know how this works out as I am planning on picking up a new Philips TV this weekend and want to know if I am going to need to buy a new remote.

As explained in the links below, there is a known conflict with Philips remote codes and old hauppauge remotes running on system code 0

I was able to recreate this by programming my universal remote to that of a Philips VCR and it did in fact conflict. You can use this to your advantage though.

Here is a wonderous set of documentation for irremote.ini...

I had something of the same issue, where the remote power was taking GB to the radio screen. I decided to take advante of this instead. I commented out (;) all the commands under classic, leaving only the radio button. I then scrolled down further and set the radio= button under GB to {esc}{esc}{esc}. Doing this, I could be watching live tv, hit the tv power, and GB would also exit live tv (or recorded) and go to main menu.
