Strange display problem

Hi all -

I have two new MPEG files (not recorded with gbpvr) that when played over the MVP appear to be widescreen and only play in the top half of the 4:3 tv screen, ie, one large black bar at the bottom.

I have never seen this with .mpg files before; has anyone ever seen this, and more importantly, any idea how to correct?

Not at home at the minute, but it makes sense - files are from UK, we are in US. I'll try reconverting them tonight.

I reencoded with TMPGEnc to 352x480 as described and this problem is solved - now my wife can get her 'Eastenders' fix!
