Quote:Why does the progress bar run backyards - as shown in the video? Is this normal?Yes. Its hard to find a timeline model that is super clear for live tv usage. It's doing what you get with live streams in places like youtube etc, where the very right hand side is the current live point, and as you drag the pointer to the left it's moving back in time. (if you go to youtube.com and search for 'live stream' and watch one, you'll see the same...starts at the right hand side)
Quote:Note the timer in the video's left hand corner increases incrementally each time I select the Pause/Play button...until the timer reaches what ever buffer time/duration I've set in the Live TV buffer. Is this normal? On the right is the current time. On the left is the time behind live. ie, if you pause, it gets further and further behind live, so yes, you'd expect to see the number on the left increasing.
Quote:It doesn't appear that the Live TV Buffer Directory, located at C:\Temp, has files being written to this directory every time I pause a Live TV video playback? Is this normal?Live TV buffer files are written to that directory any time you're watching live tv, so that it's always ready to pause or skip back etc. ie, doesn't just start recording when you hit the pause button.
Quote:I also loaded M3U and EPG URLs using a M3U/EPG editor and inserted the URLs in the Devices settings - Not in the Settings>Guide>Add XMLTV Channel Line Up. (I did this on a new/clean NextPVR install) NextPVR did populate the EPG properly but my playback performance did not improve - see link above.Yeah, I wouldn't expect it to make any difference to that.
Quote:How many times does NextPVR request EPG URL data? I did receive an error, when initially prompted to update the EPG in Devices, that too many request were being submitted...or something to that effect? The default is once a day, overnight at like 3am, unless you configure it to run at multiple times. If you change the channels, you are asked if you'd like the EPG updated. You can also hit the 'update epg' button at any time to force an EPG update.
Hi Sub,
Were you unable to open the link, https://www.dropbox.com/s/1f8mkpzuu0jzsz...t.mp4?dl=0, to view the video in Dropbox?
The video shows how the NextPRV plays the same video segment, in this case 20 seconds, every time I press the Play/Pause button, after the program stops. Also in this case, the program only plays for about 20 seconds and then stops...At other times, and different Live TV program(s), it plays longer or returns the Streaming Failed (transcoder exited). That's why I asked you "Any idea why this is happening"? I'm assuming this isn't normal...is there a fix for this situation?
You also stated "I wouldn't expect it to make any difference to that." Can you please tell what will make a difference...so, I can view Live TV programs for more than a few seconds/minutes? I'm willing to try to make this application work...
Thank you!
