Martin,

Was UIDroid just a time-limited demo?  On startup it now says "NextPVR demo ended" on all three devices I installed it on.

OK, no problem, I'll get a donation sent shortly.  I didn't see the announcement, only the new subforum, but now I read it.

Hi Martin,

This is my first post though I have been using NPVR since the GBPVR days, and your NMT extender since you first released it. This UI is great - the wife's taken to it like a duck to water. Still a little rough around the edges but very useable. Found a small issue after installing V5 on another machine - thought I'd see if I could find it on the UI. Found it all right but got the "demo only message". Ok just go back in and select another server - no go thrown out again. Went back and added my license to the new install's config and then able to change servers. No real issue just a pain as I wasn't planning to the notebook as a server.

Amazing to see a first time poster with such a long history with sub's great software.

I have many unlicensed servers here and do not see this issue. The donation status currently gets transferred to the client on login and is not removed. Did you remove the client on Android for updating or delete thje Android cache settings perhaps? On the long DPAD centre if it tells you you are a donator, I would remove the license from the test machine and see if it connects now. If it doesn't let me know.

As for the rough UI for sure compared to the NMT you might need to get used to most remote and the libraries are work in progress. If you have a specific comment please open a new thread.

No it's been on the TV for a couple of weeks or more. I just wanted to see if I could access the notebook. I was having similar issue while setting up V5 on the servers. If I went through the NPVR.exe setting to modify the devices or channels, closed the web version, then clicked save on the exe setup, the license was removed from the config file and replaced with "none" and then displayed on the UI as "Donator - No". Since I stopped accessing the web app through the exe, the problem has been negated. Looks like it's not holding/transferring the license to the client.

Now to make things even murkier - My PVR's network card seem to be playing up. Thought it was sorted and tried to load to the UI - only got a black screen, then dumped out. No way would it let me get to the set-up screen. Tried turning off the problem computer - no change. Then the computer restarted itself, as it was booting up the UI finally gave me the setup screen and I was able to select another server - which worked perfectly. Tried a couple of more times on the problem computer with the same issues and reboot sequence to get back to the setup screen. The UI still says I'm a donator on the other machine.

The main reason I haven't posted is I have a post happy Bro, so have used him as the messenger. This time I'm ahead of him so been ordered to fight my own battles mutter, mutter, mutter!

I'm not sure what you mean by "access the notebook".

And then the rest of you explanation really confuses me. With V5, you can't modify any of the server settings (devices, channels, directories, etc.) from any .exe. You can only do that from the web interface. The settings screen in the NextPVR.exe client that comes with V5 is only for client-specific things like decoders.

It sort of sounds to me like you tried to install V5 on top of V4 (in the same directories) and have ended up with a mix-match of V4 and V5. V5 is basically a totally separate application. It installs to a different directory in C:\Program Files\NextPVR and uses a different data directory in C:\Users\Public\NPVR-data. And the V5 NextPVR.exe client is located in C:\Program Files\NextPVR\Client. I don't think that V5 installer creates any shortcut (desktop or in the Start Menu) for the V5 NextPVR.exe client. It sounds like you might be using the V4 client .exe with it pointing to the same data directory that you used with V5. So your V4 NextPVR.exe client is overwriting the V5 config.xml file with a V4 version (that doesn't include the donator information since it didn't exist in V4).

I think Brett nailed it. Are you getting the expiry screen or the another screen, which should be the the setting screen? That would indicate you could be running V4 and V5 together and auto configuration is connecting you to V4.

If you want you connect to a system that runs both version, you need to use the manual configuration and input then IP and port for V5.

I confirmed that this will does incorrectly show Donator: False because the logic didn't go far enough to determine if you are a donator or not.
