If i have am watching a recorded show using GBPVR on my computer, i can see that the recording has a timestamp and i am able to use FF/SKIP etc. If i watch the same recording through my MVP, no timestamp, no FF/SKIP, etc. Any idea how to remedy it?

Thanks in advance.

Did you create the recording? The MVP seems to have that issue with mpeg1 files. What format is the file?

Yes, i created it from GBPVR. How can you tell if it's MPEG1 or MPEG2 is there a setting to change it? The extension is just .mpg

If it's created with gbpvr and a Hauppauge card, I'd expect it to be mpeg2. There are a number of tools that will tell you what the format is. None that I can readily point you to from work though. Properties in Media Player might tell you.

I've got a number of files I've downloaded from various places, and converted to VCD format (mpeg1). I found that around 98% of them played fine, but lacked the ability to seek due to them not having time info. After much trial and error, it appears to be related to them being mpeg1 vs mpeg2. It's not a gbpvr problem, since I loaded the Hauppauge software and it had the same issues (in fact gbpvr handled it better). I guess since the Hauppauge software is so miserable for seeking, nobody noticed it doesn't work Smile

I've yet to see a problem with an mpeg2 file, especially the ones recorded with my PVR250. While the Hauppauge cards will do mpeg1, I don't think gbpvr provides a profile for it, so I think you'd have to go out of your way to make an mpeg1 file.
