I installed the latest Nextpvr using the deb package on a Rasp Pi which already runs OpenVPN.
The Pi is running without GUI.

The installation completed successfully however I was unable to access the configuration web page using the v4 ip address.  The nextpvr service is running on the Pi however netstat showed only port 8866 open on tcp6.
Using the v6 ip address I was able to access the configuration page and continued to setup IPTV.  This successfully setup the channels and the EPG but live streaming sat at a black screen.

Assuming the v6 IP was an issue, I uninstalled nextpvr and disabled IPv6 on the PI and performed a reinstall.

Surprisingly port 8866 is still showing open only on tcp6 and I have no access to the configuration page as IPv6 is disabled.

Any help with this issue would be gratefully received.

I wouldn't assume it was an ipv6 issue without seeing the zipped logs you can provide to us.

Martin you are correct and thanks for the reply.
The second install defaulted to local storage for the cache and recordings. This resulted in live streams being able to be played.

My original install was configured to use a Truenas share. Within the share I can see the 'program' folder being created and populated with the ts and xml file, but no playback on the server.
This obviously requires more work!

I still have the IP issue with IPv6 not being a convenient way of configuring a private network.

If you are using the deb installer and it will default to always default to local storage unless you incorrectly try to install as root, which doesn't have a home folder.

Check dmesg to make sure the the service isn't starting before networking isn't fully established. I have posted a script for this somewhere on the forum.

If that is not it zipped logs might help us help you find the ipv6.

Going backwards now!

Last night I setup a new share with no security restrictions and I was able to stream live tv and also record.

Now tonight, live tv creates the two files in the shared folder and continues to write to the ts file until its 1,775 KB in size. This gives about 4 seconds of video then freezes the video stream. The ts file never exceeds this size.

Trying to playback the previous evenings test recording also fails without an obvious attempt.

In all cases the log file is showing permission denied.

Any thoughts?

Without logs there are no problems.

OK thanks, seems like sub needs to handle that error better.

My first guess is your drive isn't mounted. Does sudo mount -a fix it assuming you did make a /etc/fstab entry for it.

If not what does ls -la /mnt/Recording show

Yes, I have a fstab entry re mounted with sudo mount.

the ls command shows the contents of the share including the folder created by last nights recording

The permissions are what I am interested in seeing.

Because of the spam and because you didn't answer my question I don't know if you installed using the deb installer but you need to make sure all the permission match.
